Welcome to the BCA Math Team, one of the oldest and largest groups at the Academies.
All high schoolers at all skill levels are welcome to join. We meet on Saturdays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
For the next few months, we will be meeting online, but we’re still excited to offer unique competitions, lectures, and study sessions. We’re looking to systematically cover each of the four subjects: algebra, combinatorics, geometry, and number theory. There will be 8 organized lecture series this year. We have both introductory and intermediate levels, so everyone can find their place!
We participate in a variety of national math competitions over the course of the year. Many of them take place at BCA, but we also travel to multiple competitions each year. Past locations we have traveled to include Princeton, Harvard, MIT, Penn State, Carnegie Mellon, Seton Hall, Stanford, and even Beijing and Seoul! Despite COVID-19, we still plan on participating in many of these online!
Our meeting schedule will be a three-week rotation of A, B, and C weeks. On A weeks, Algebra and Number Theory lecture tracks will meet, and on B weeks, Geometry and Combinatorics will meet. On C weeks, we will practice for upcoming contests, including individual staples like AMC and team contests like ARML.
